Michelle Burgis-Kasthala

Michelle Burgis-Kasthala is a Lecturer at Edinburgh Law School and a Research Fellow in RegNet at the Australian National University. Her research focuses on international law across the Arab world where she has lived and worked. Currently, she is completing an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award on international criminal justice responses to Palestine’s predicament and the Syrian civil war. Her work has appeared in various international law journals along with her book, Boundaries of Discourse in the International Court of Justice: Mapping Arguments in  Arab Territorial Disputes (Brill, 2009)She is an editor of the Chinese Journal of International Law and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
